Plant Day - May 2026
Lowry Hill Plant Day - 10th May 2026
We were lucky to get a warm and sunny afternoon for our third Lowry Hill 'Plant Day', held on the open space behind the Kingmoor Infants' School and Kershope Road.
We had everything from Aubergines to Red Cabbage, Cornflowers to Nasturtiums all displayed on tables ready for both keen and new gardeners to choose from.
Our Patch Secretary, Michelle, also had a 'Freecycle Stall' with lots of household items to give away.
It was a lovely opportunity for residents from all corners of Lowry Hill to meet, share plants and enthusiasm for gardening.
Such was the success that it is expected that the event will be repeated in 2027.

Lowry Hill Litter Pick - Sunday 22nd March 2026 The Lowry Hill Residents' Association invited volunteers to take part in a litter pick on Sunday 22nd March, and about 25 people of all ages helped to keep our estate free of litter. Thanks are due to all who attended and to Martin Reeves who organised the event.

Santa came to Lowry Hill on Christmas Eve!! He started at 4.30pm at the entrance to Naworth Drive and drove round Lowry Hill Road entertaining literally hundreds of children, his elves collecting donations for local charities as he went. Thanks are due to The Rotary Club of Carlisle for organising this event.

Lowry Hill Plant Swap - 26th May 2025 All residents were encouraged to grow and pot flowers, shrubs and vegetables and bring them to "The Owl" an open space behind the Kingmoor Infants' School on Sunday 11th May. On the day the organisers were pleasantly surprised with the number of plants brought along by residents. At the end of the day people were encouraged to take plants even though they had not brought any to exchange. Such was the success that it is expected that the event will be repeated in 2026.
