A notice from Amanda Wakefield (Art subject leader at Kingmoor Nursery and Infant School):
We’ve got an exciting week of arts activities planned for our arts enrichment week (1st-5th October) and we’d like Lowry Hill residents to help us with one in particular! Over the course of the week, every child in school will paint and decorate a stone/rock. On Friday 5th our older children are going to walk to Kingmoor woods and hide their rocks along the way. The idea is that the rocks are found and a photo of them is posted onto the Brampton Cumbria Rocks Facebook page, saying where they were picked up. The finder then re-hides the rock and we wait for it to be discovered again. We are going to track the journey of our rocks which will be fun to find out where the rocks travel to and help the children’s geography skills in the process! We’d like residents to look out for the children’s decorated rocks and help them on their way. The rocks will be labelled with instructions and you can imagine how exciting it will be for the children if their rock travels far from home!
Thank you for supporting us with this activity
